Jarvis, by Michael Scorsese · last updated 30 October 2026
Who uses Jarvis
One person: me, Michael Scorsese. Jarvis is personal software that runs on my own computer. It is not offered to the public, has no sign-up, and has no other users.
What Google data it accesses
When I connect my Google account, Jarvis asks for these permissions and uses them only as described:
- Gmail, read-only (
gmail.readonly): to read new messages in my inbox, sort them and summarize them for me. - Gmail, compose (
gmail.compose): to save draft replies in my Gmail Drafts folder after I have reviewed them. Jarvis does not send email on its own. - Google Calendar, read-only (
calendar.readonly): to include the day's events in my morning briefing.
How the data is used and stored
- Data is processed on my own computer, by software I run, for my own use.
- Email summaries, calendar events and drafts are kept in a local database on that computer, protected by the computer's own login. Nightly backups go to storage I control.
- Short excerpts of an email may be sent to an AI model provider (Anthropic) to produce a summary or a draft reply. Those requests are made from my computer under my own account and are used only to generate the response.
What is not done with the data
- It is not sold, shared, published or given to any third party.
- It is not used for advertising, profiling or training of any kind.
- It is not transferred to any other person or service beyond what is listed above.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Jarvis's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Revoking access
Access can be removed at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions by removing Jarvis. Deleting the local database removes every copy of the data Jarvis kept.
